U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) Holds SBIC Meeting at TRM Microwave

The Honorable Jeanne Shaheen, former governor and current United States Senator from New Hampshire, visited TRM Microwave on January 25. Not only did she and local dignitaries tour TRM?s Bedford headquarters and greet staff, but she held her first Small Business Advisory Council meeting of 2016 in TRM?s new expansion facility located at 4 Sunset Lane, also in Bedford. TRM?s CEO, Wendy Tirollo, was personally invited by Senator Shaheen to become the newest member of the senator?s SBIC in late 2015.

?I first met Senator Shaheen when I provided testimony at a field hearing she held in October of last year. That hearing focused on the challenges faced by small businesses in New Hampshire. I am impressed with her dedication to New Hampshire?s small business community and am honored to be a part of her local advisory council. There is a lot of important work to be done, and I?m delighted to participate in this bipartisan effort to help lead the way and work together to achieve progress on the red tape and difficult issues all companies encounter periodically,? states Mrs. Tirollo.

After the meeting, Mrs. Tirollo shared additional feedback with the senator on a variety of topics, including NAICS set-asides for small woman-owned businesses, prime contractor supplier diversity initiatives, and the rate of congressional approval of military sales to our nation's allies.
